Dancing Dream

Credit
Peacock-feathered, violet, turquoise, and emerald;
She twirls and prances with a tragic grin
On the rainbow sparkle cobblestone,
Dampened by the light rain.
Faces flock to her poise and ease
With each flowing flourish and step.
Though they circle her, yearning for
A bright feather of their own,
This girl is blinded- clouded by the
Misty pillows drifting in her dancing dream.
She does not see their sickened,
Envious faces, flash and grasp,
Tear and glare.

Her world is full of colors- hues that swirl
Around her- a sphere, helix, waterfall
Of apricot rain, lemon drops that descend
Into the rushing peach stream.
There she stays safe, anchored in her
Colorful world- but the cherry winds
No not protect her from the demons of reality-
Dark, cold, blackberry stained eyes and cheeks.
The feathers are hers no more.
