Sometimes, I remember that I am all alone.
When I see them all smile, whisper, kiss, shine
With the one that they belong to.
Paired off, and I stand frozen,
Third, fifth, the last one- alone.
Loneliness is not constant.
It comes in waves that ebb at your heart
And crash in your nightmares,
Stealing your confidence and hope
That there will be someone
So you can say I’m only me when I’m with you.
But I am not with you.
I am here, third, fifth, last.
I do not know who you are. Maybe you do not exist.
Hope dwindles and dreams die
And your white horse does not save me.
